I LOVE that they name storms these days as it makes it so easy to differentiate between the various windy days and storm days etc - and to know if a particular notable storm is coming, here, or passed.

It reminds me of an episode of The Vicar of Dibley where the villagers were arguing as to whether a particular spell of bad weather they remembered was The Great Storm, The Great Wind, The Great Blow, etc.
Then they went on to another period which they couldn't agree whether it was the Great Snow, the Great Freeze, The Great Frost, etc. :rotfl:

Have you noticed how these big storms and hurricanes have such middle class names?

    Where's storm Kevin?
    Or storm Wayne.

Have to be a bit careful, now, as don't know what the NP's real life names are!

I bet Chris will now say his real name's Wayne!!

    I'm gobsmacked, though!

The only things I did after school were my ballet&tap classes, my piano lessons on a Thursday, and I walked there and back as it wasn't far, and Guides on a Friday, which was just round the corner.

No money to do anything else, and no car to be driven to anything anyway.

Same with my own sprogs. No money and/or no car or still at work so I couldn't take them anywhere.

Sometimes you do need to have time to chill, stand and stare, use imagination, curl up in a chair with a book and an apple, etc.

    Working? At age 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, et seq? Isn't child labour illegal? :D

    Doesn't sound very money saving!

I have friends whose kids also had these mad schedules. I wasn't impressed, mine were told to choose one uniformed group (eg scouts) after school, to learn an instrument in school and one night for a sport. It turned out that sport ended up moving to a weekend slot.

We once had a friend of DS2 to ours after school who phoned his parent in distress that there was no after school activity arranged. 10 minutes later I overhead him phoning parent again to reassure the parent that they were doing an activity called "chilling"!

As you can see from your quote of my post, I had reckoned it would be Chris saying that! :rotfl:
