New HSBC debit card 2% cashback scheme from 1 July

I have received an email confirming thst from 1 July until 1 October HSBC are offering 2 per cent cashback on all purchases on visa debit cards to their current account customers up to a maximum cashback of £10 a month ( equating to £500 of monthly spending).
Presumably an attempt to match the co op and TSB - but odd that it's only for 3 months!
It's apparently a summer treat for customers.

Just finishing off an amex 5% offer then I will hit this (once I have done my 100 per month on tsb and anything under 2 quid goes on coop of course). Useful for Aldi.I think....0

If, as frequently happens, all three of 'my' (my own and both our joint account cards) debit cards demand PINs ,I use my Co-op card as I at least get 5p and TSB aren't getting my payment for nothing.
Why not just limit up to £1 automatically going onto your Co-op card, as TSB's cashback is cumulative so 2 payments of £1.50 earn 15p instead of just 10p (every little helps;) ) ?0 -
I've got a HSBC Advance account and haven't received an email. I wonder if this is customer specific.0

I've had the same email too. Maybe they are sending them in batches?"In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -

I have an Advance a/c and rec'd the email at 10am yesterday. Large mailings are often sent out in batches.
Having said that, it could be targeted. I only have the HSBC a/c to access the regular saver and tend to make a single small debit card transaction every 2 or 3 months just so there is some other activity on the account. My last such debit card spend was only a week or so ago.0
