You have reached the stage that a bunch of crazies are contacting you .... DRP ???
They operate a "no win no fee" setup meaning they earn nothing if people do not respond to their rubbish let alone pay ?

SO, YOU IGNORE THEM until they get fed up sending out silly letters in an attempt to extort money from you

If UKCPM want to go further and issue court papers, come back here.
IT WILL NOT BE DRP who do that because they cannot

would it be advisable to respond to UKCPM with the protocol outlined in the NEWBIES thread or continue ignoring as this has gone beyond now?

Not worth responding at Debt Collector stage. Come back if you get a LBCCC or claim.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It might depend on how likely the scammers are to do court. Have a look at the BMPA motoring charity website as it has information about that sort of thing amongst other useful information.

If they have a habit of doing court, then sending the IPC template from the NEWBIES won't hurt, and will make you look more reasonable if it did go to court. Of course, any appeal to the scammers will be rejected so it's really up to you.

You should go back to the company you are subbing for and complain. The advice to ignore a PCN has not been give on this site since the law changed in 2012. By telling you to ignore, they have cut off your ability to appeal, not that it makes any difference with an IPC member scammer.

Received another DRP letter this morning.

    bmpa.eu/companydata/UK_Car_Park_Management.html

    Tickets Issued 2017 = 19133
    Court Hearings 2017 = 78

Puts my odds of court at 1/245

Is there any way of finding out total number of successful cases as I presume this is just what was brought to court?

    DRP ??? :rotfl:

If you are having a BBQ this weekend, you roll the DRP letters
up in a ball, put them under the charcoal and ignite

Now you wait to see what the PPC does. It would be difficult
to find out on each case

so the odds of going to court are considered low, therefore court action is unlikely? Is that a fair appraisal?

It will never go to court via a debt collector. Whether CPM will issue proceedings is somewhat in their hands.

The recorded statistics suggest more unlikely than likely, but no one gives guarantees on this front, especially as they have the balance of 6 years to pursue a claim through the courts. The crystal ball gets rather misty when looking as far ahead as April 2023.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The stats are somewhat misleading year on year as it may take 8 months to chase payment and get hearing listed. One cannot simply compare the PCN listed for the year with the same year's hearings.

The numbers aren't that great, but equally buoyed by the success in Beavis (which is not the panacea they assert it to be) they are seemingly more litigious than they were.

look at it this way, you paid, they have lost nothing? Why do they want £100 because you wicket was flipped by the wind? Because they are dishonest scammers, (are there any other sort), seeking to make a quick buck by trying to frighten you into thinking that you have breached a contract.

Ignore, and if they take you to court they are unlikely to win, and you can cost them money.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
