My solicitors and Conveyancers are Useless and incompetent. We are very far ahead with the conveyancing, to the point I've signed my transfer deed. But now my Conveyancers are delaying my file, being rude and incompetent.
Would I sacrifice my sale or jeopardise it if I switched solicitors so far into the transactions? How long delay would it add?

Don't understand what you mean. Have they ceased to act? If not, most of them are useless lazy sh14bags, and you'll just be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Have you upset them in some way? Do they wish to no longer act for you?

Your solicitor may not be the best, but your post has failed to communicate adequately what the problem is, so are you sure the blame lies entirely on their side?

Under extreme circumstances, a solicitor might cease to act for you or pass your file to a colleague, but they would not undo whatever work has been done, because they will still want their fee.

Oh sugar! Apologies bad grammar.i meant to say they are delaying my file, as I believe they only have a glance at it once a week and don't work on it when matters arise in the first instance. I wondered if I changed to a better solicitor they could pick up immediately and push things along if they are better? Or would you say just stick with the useless bunch till the end and try see it through, as I am quite near the end I would like to hope?

How long into the process are you and is there a chain? Are you sure all of the delays are coming from them?

you will still have to pay for any work done and start again, potentially losing the vendor

I would try to get a target date for exchange agreed and work from there, requesting a minimum of weekly progress updates.

Changing solicitors will not necessarily speed things along, but it will certainly increase your legal costs.

The average purchase takes around 3 months, with complications arising from the title documents increasing this. How long has the process taken so far, and if it seems to be dragging, what is the reason for the delay? Is the transaction part of a chain of purchases, all dependent on each other?

Expect to pay far more. If you want to employ a solicitor on that basis, i.e. be given priority treatment above all other clients.
