Yea thought as much. Seems doing it this way around (pre-authorisation then taken the resort fee out of that) has stopped any international transaction charges banks put onto debit transactions.

Paid for luggage on an internal flight on my card and was charged the usual international transaction charge, but the resort fee has come out without any of those charges applied

As you are a longstanding member of MSE why are you using a card that has an international transaction charge

I only go abroad once or twice a year, and then i only tend to use my hard as a last resort. I know you can get cards with no international transaction chargs, but the amount of times i use my card abroad means ive never bothered to get one
