Watching films with no Internet connection

I don't think this is a redirect issue.
I've clicked on some movies on YT and you just get a 90 min video which is a screen telling to you to click on the link in the description to watch the movie. That's when you find out it is hosted on some dodgy paywall site. All you can do is report the video, but takedowns are rare in my experience.
If however it IS a redirect, then I would be very concerned about how that is being managed on the YT platform.0 -
Yes, they're not malware re-directs, the link takes you to a site to watch the film, but you have to register first. The films and programmes I want to watch are mostly from the 70's and can't be bought or rented but they are all on these movie sites. If anyone can recommend a site that doesn't require registration (or can put my mind at rest regarding registration) I'd be grateful, I don't mind watching adverts as I believe some sites get their revenue that way.0

Sky go offer downloads now - as do netflix.
Any other suggestions (and there are many) would be telling you how to pirate movies - which is not allowed here
I think that's something of a presumption.
I can think of two options that are neither illegal or Sky Go/Netflix.
1. Youtube has lots of Film & TV content, and I think it's a fairly reasonable assumption that it stays there only by the agreement or inaction of the rights holder.
You can download YT content with various tools, although my preference is OnlineVideoConverter, which is fast, free and reasonably reliable.
2. Get_iplayer is still operational for BBC iPlayer downloads. If you have a TV Licence, there is no legal issue with downloading content using this third-party tool. The official iPlayer client also has a download option.0 -

A brief look show that some film content has been removed from Youtube, though a lot of old TV remains.
DailyMotion has a range of films. (Sorry, but I don't know the legality of this).0 -
Youtube will often redirect you to Google films where you can view, rent, and download films .0
