What are the best sites or apps to use to download films or TV programmes to watch off line? I need some entertainment on a flight, used to use Showbox but does not seem to work on my phone anymore. I think that iplayer is only for a week or so?
Sorry for daft question, not very technically minded!

Sky go offer downloads now - as do netflix.
Any other suggestions (and there are many) would be telling you how to pirate movies - which is not allowed here0 -
Amazon Prime also allow downloads on some stuff, never tried it though.0

Great, I have both amazon prime and sky go, will start having a look!!0

On Sky Go, I can either download to a sky box or watch online, can't see how to download to watch offline on my phone. Am I doing something wrong?
Still trying to work out how to download from Amazon 0 -
Uugh - you need sky go EXTRA - that's an extra £5 - Sorry i just presumed it was the default behaviour.
You could do the netflix 1 month free trail thing, and cancel it before the month is up0 -
BBC Iplayer varies depending on the programme. Some of the old stuff is available for months. Others you can't download at all and have to watch streaming.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

I've not used it recently, but TalkTalkTv (used to be Blinkbox) I think offers downloads.0

There are some old films on YouTube (as in, so old the copyright has expired). But there are a few classics like Casablanca.
There are also quite a few documentaries and TV programmes.
There are plenty of sites/tools that let you download YouTube videos to watch offline.0 -
Hi, sorry for hi-jacking your thread! When I click on youtube movies it sometimes diverts me to a website and I'm asked to register to continue watching. Has anyone any experience of these sites, is registration purely to inundate email with spam? The films I want to watch can't be rented or bought, mostly old tv and 70's films. Many of the sites I'm being sent to have the very things I want to watch so I'm tempted to hit the register button, but am rather hesitant.
You'll be lucky if you can get Sky go/Extra to work, I've been trying for months, all I get is 'download Silverlight' and go round and round in circles being sent back to same download Silverlight page!0 -
^^ Can you provide an example to this issue - It smells awefully like a malware redirect to me0
