MBNA Pre approval - application not matched!! Anyone else

Hello all,

I got Martin's email this morning because I have a balance that needs transferring in the next few months thought I'd try for the preapproval on the MBNA card. Two minutes later I get a preapproval; I just need to repeat all of my details again on their page and not on the mse one. Fab. I go ahead, fill in my details exactly as I had done on the muse page, except it's in a slightly different format. For example it asks you to put all income together instead of in two part (main and secondary) and it also asks the "how long have you lived in this house" question with slightly different options for answers. For example I lived there 10 years and 3 months but Mse only had the option of 10 of 11 years so I went for 10. The MBNA one had the option of "over 10 years but under...." so I picked that one.

I hit the button and it comes back saying they can't match my answers to any preapproved quote, but I'm able to get a card with a credit check!! Kind of left thinking if it's actually possible to be "matched". Has anyone actually managed to get this through the preaproval pricess?

Personally I'm not desperate for a card and the offered pre approval (on MBNA form not mse one, and subject to credit check) was not the right card for me so I didn't bother.

Has this pre approval actually matched and worked for anyone?

Yes, worked fine for me too.

Pre-approval doesn't necessarily mean you will get it however;
