Agree^^^^^.....you could sit down on TA, choose any hotel in the world, and submit a review.0 -

I've seen some ridiculous reviews on Tripadvisor.
Basic self catering accommodation in Greece complaining about no porters to carry luggage. etc etc
Maybe state the name of the hotel so other posters can read what is upsetting you.
It seems odd that reviews about the food have suddenly turned bad.
I think if I were really worried I'd pay the £50 per head to change my holiday.0 -
Must agree that some people only go on TA to complain, but I do go on there & then make my own mind up. Never trust the travel agent, they'll feed you all sorts of crap to get a sale! You make your own entertainment, walk to the beach, & buy the water from the supermarket. Just go & enjoy your holiday0

The reviews can't all be bad ? Surely there are some good ones ? You have to take it all with a pinch of salt.0

Charging for sunbeds (on a beach) is hardly unusual. Neither is charging for bottled water.
Reviews are entirely subjective. What one person views as good another views as bad. It's just someones personal opinion. Some people have champagne tastes and beer money pockets.
£50 each is small price to pay if you are so concerned about strangers opinions. It's not a lack of will on the part of the tour operator. It's about you wanting to change your agreed contract.
Tour operators have nothing to do with TA reviews, a lot of which are extremely dubious in the first place.
Which hotel is it?0 -
As already mentioned bottled water isn't usually included in all inclusive hotels as a general rule.
If the hotel had a private beach I would expect normally for the sunloungers to be free but maybe they no longer have the right to keep the beach private? Local councils are free to change this if they wish and you could still head down and place a towel on the sand for free?
Entertainment isn't always on all year round/all season either. It's still low season in most areas so entertainment may not have started as yet.
We booked an all inclusive in lanzarote last year. We knew it would be cheap and cheerful but most comments were good, then a couple of months before we went it had a run of bad comments regarding food with people complaining that the choices were limited. We found it completely the opposite with at least 3-5 meat dishes each night plus a couple of vegetarian options and lots of salads, breads, cold meats, cheeses etc every night. Choices were plenty but what people really meant was that it wasn't burger and chips every night! I'm sure you will be fine and will have a great time.Lea0 -
I've been to hotels with poor reviews and had a wonderful time with no experience of what people were complaining about. Similarly, I recently stayed at a hotel with good reviews which I thought was not up to the standard they were preaching.
Water bottles, surely no big deal if you have to pay for one every day. Kids' clubs: These are often only open during school holidays, so wouldn't be yet, but might be when you get there. Same with entertainment. Food taste is very subjective and as for the beach, does it really matter?
You chose that hotel for a reason and booked it confidently, so forget about reviews. Go there and make your own judgement. It might be fantastic, or it might be a case of 'could have been better', but that applies to all holidays.0 -
I've left a terrible review of a place I stayed. Mainly down to the concrete hard bed and road noise. The review after mine was from a couple that had stayed in the room below us at the same time. Their review was the complete opposite. They loved the place.
Mind you, they were a bit deaf and extremely well padded.0 -
Years ago, a member on here started a thread about how much she'd enjoyed her holiday and what a fantastic place it was. She posted a link to the place and where reviews were (not sure if it was trip advisor or not back then) Imagine my surprise when I read the last review was by my sister, who was complaining about all sort of things. I pm'd the mse'r to tell her, she was astonished, until my message she thought the review had been posted in mistake and posted about a different place. The mse'r even told me some thing weren't accurate as she'd visited the same place several times. They'd visited within a week or two of each other. My sister never said a word at home and said she'd enjoyed her hol. Some people like complaining and most are far happier to moan than praise,0
