Concerns around trip advisor comments

We booked a package holiday via Thomson around a month ago. At the time the feedback on trip advisor was good so we went all inclusive based on that and advice from the agent. We were told there was entertainment in the evening, private beach, kids club etc. Feedback on trip advisor is now appalling. There is no entertainment and additional charges for things like sun beds and water. We were told the beach was the hotels but apparently not. The reviews on food are also now awful. I called Thomson today and asked them what in earth was going on. They said they can't contact the rep out there and if we want to change our accommodation we have to pay £50 per head! I'm traveling with my 18 month old daughter so don't want to be messing about when we arrive. Any advice?

£50 each isn't a lot in the grand scheme of things, I'd just change if I weren't happy.0

Are you sure there is not two properties with very similar names?0

Well don't then, just mess about when you arrive!0 -
Pay the £50, change where you are going and enjoy you holiday which i think sounds a better idea than hold onto your £50, dig your heals in, fret over it till you get there, possibly suffer a miserable holiday (or not) then come back and complain about it on here. Life is too to spend it shooting yourself in the foot.0

Charges for bottled water are fairly standard these days.
There are usually free water dispensers in lots of hotels
Could an 18 month old child actually use a kids club?
What was the original star review on TripAdvisor and or what is it now.
Different people have different ideas about what's acceptable food wise and as always you get what you pay for.0 -

In what way have you been misled? Thomson has nothing to do with TA reviews.0 -
Many TA comments bear very little relationship to reality. So I do not think you should allow yourself to be concerned about them.0
