1 Month Contract Broadband

Options
I'm moving from a house which is served by Virgin cable to a new build which is server by copper wire so can only get ADSL. And the speeds I'm being offered are 1-2Mb!!

The site office have told me fast broadband is coming but they don't have an ETA. On the OpenReach website, houses further down the estate are in line to get FTTP but past a certain number, it stops.

Is there a provider which offers broadband on a rolling 1 month contract? I was looking at Origin last week but I can no longer find that option on their website. I don't want to sign up to 12 months at a time in case fibre becomes available during my 12 month contract period.

Just to complicate matters, I'm looking for a provider that allows you to use your own hardware, or they provide a modem/router which can be used in modem only mode.

Plusnet do. You can use you own router as well. Most (all?) ADSL providers allow you to use your own router. Sky make it difficult by making you have to find out how to extract the username and password from the Sky router but don't stop you.

NowTV state they don't serve my area. I've just signed up to Origin Broadband for 12 months. It'll be garbage no matter who I go with, so I'd be aswell going with the cheapest.

Not sure how I'll cope without decent internet. It's a pity you can't get decent 4G data bundles for home internet.
