British Airways Strike

Unite have announced a 2 week strike on BA starting on July 1st following the collapse of talks to resolve a long standing issue. Before everyone panics, it does not affect flights from Gatwick, London City or Stansted, only Heathrow. It also only affects routes flown by 'mixed fleet crew' who joined the company since 2010.
There have been previous strikes when BA either chartered in other airlines or combined flights when there were multiple flights each day. Therefore at present, do not assume the worst, although clearly in July the number of planes available for hire will be a lot less than at off peak times. BA is likely to announce changes in due course but it just adds to the feeling that BA are losing the plot on 2017!
