It is amazing how I let myself get turned into a shrinking violet by that silly man in the first place! Before I met him I was a very strong person and am now having to build myself up again...slowly! Things were a bit difficult for me at the start of my new relationship cause I didn't feel I was good enough to be his girlfriend! All I saw was me being a bruised and battered mess, single mum at 16 and life going horribly wrong...why would anyone want to go out with me? But they guy I am with now is amazing...we see each other when we can and at least that means I can start being an independent woman again! And become a positive role model to my daughter!
I have a hand blender but it is a little bust at the mo...still works but I was silly and tried blending something that was way too hot and it all started to melt! I can just about get away with using it though! I have started trying to make soup for lunch this week, I am a big baby and don't really like soup with bits in so the blender is ideal! Should save some for the weekends too so we can have it for lunch or tea! You are right, she won't even know what is in it!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
Oooh I love making my own soups and as you say the blender is ideal if you don't like 'bits'.
Let me know if you ever want a few recipes as I have some and they are very cheap & easy to make.
Aww bless you. A nasty partner that makes you feel like poo is a hard thing to get over. I had a 6 month relationship with a guy who turned me into a big old self doubting fool who hated her body and doubted every man who came along for a good few years after him.
Took me a while to realise that everything negative that he threw at me was a defence mechanism for him because he felt so crap about himself so he needed to bring everyone else down to his level to give his own ego a kick.
If that makes sense?!

Too true LA!!! I know if anyone would have told me that they had a fella and he did this and that to them, like what we have been through I would have told them to get rid asap..just shame I couldn't follow my own advice at the time! Yep, they truly are a pair of muppets! But at least we are free of them now!
What kind of soups do you make? I tend to make minestrone, tomato and basil, leek and potato and spicy tomato and lentil, sometimes pumpkin but find this can be quite expensive! One day I would love a garden or an allotment so I could grow my own veg! Dinner is on the cooker, daughter has already turned her nose up at it! Little madam! But that is all she is getting! Gonna spend some time now working out childcare cost for the coming year so can budget this into the SOA. Don't want to leave it and then next summer, have a shed load of cash to find. Kids are sooo expensive! Childcare is very costly, but at least she will be at secondary school next year so don't have to worry about after school care then! I don't know how people manage with more than one kid...I know I couldn't!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

Hey donner, I think you should change the title to In pursuit of happyness (ooooh I loved that movie)... very fitting
Anyway, get those council peeps to sort the house out. I don't mind paying taxes when the money goes to people who need it. It makes me so bloody angry to read that people have to live in !!!!!! holes because the councils have spent the money painting the same railings on roundabouts for the 3rd month running (bit of a bug bear in my town). Kick their bums and get your little un somewhere nice to live and play.:A

Hiya Toto! Oops that was a typo! Should have said happyness! I have been sat here trying to help mini-me with her homework and realise I can't spell that well at all!!! She is still sat at the table eating her dinner...she ain't going anywhere till it is finished! She won't stop yapping so that ain't helping! Anyhooooos, I too loved that movie! Was really good and I cried at the end, but then I cry at pretty much anything as I am very emotional all of the time!
Know what you mean about the council, you should see them here...constantly painting the same old stuff over and over again, they really are a joke! I pay full rent and the council tax ain't cheap either, wouldn't mind if I was living in a nice place as could accept that!
She has nearly finished her dinner...what a lot of faffing about! She has told me she has finished and has just hid a load of food under her knife and fork...she must think I was born yesterday! I cooked spag bol from scratch tonight, was yum and have enough left to freeze us some more for later on in the week...that has pleased the little madam no end!
Hope you are enjoying Come Dancing LA!!!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

OK I am back...!
OK the soups I make regularly seem to be:
Broccoli & red apple (I know I know - sounds weird but it's lovely...if a little green!)
Spicy Red Lentil
Red Lentil & Tomato (incorporates carrot, onion & potato as well)
Carrot & Coriander
I think the others I make you have covered already.
If any of those appeal to you, let me know and I will post up the recipe for you. I won't do it now in case they don't appeal!

Yep Elantan...she was loving me today! She is in bed now thank goodness!
LA, could you post up the recipes for the red lentil and tomato as sounds like it has way more veggies in it than mine so would be a good one to try and also the carrot and coriander! I am a bit funny with broccoli...now I am beginning to see who mini-me takes after!
