Good luck with the diary, mine is a huge motivator for me.

Love the CHAOS thing - def applies to me. I am hoping to do a bit of a life laundry thing myself - the need to de-clutter, combined with the need to raise cash is a great driving force!

Thanks bobbadog and hypno06! This life laundry thing is complicated ain't it! I often find that even after tiding everything up, give it a few hours and it looks a state again! It doesn't help that my house is in a right state. It is a council house but needs so much work done to it it is unreal! I have no kitchen for a start! The previous occupants knocked down a wall (where all the cupboards should have been) and the ones that were here when I moved in, all fell off the wall! Therefore I have 3 small cupboards on the wall and one under the sink! It needs so much work but part of me doesn't see the point in spending lots of money on the place (which I don't have anyway!) making it nice as the house isn't mine anyway! I dunno...hard as I want somewhere I can come home to after work and just chill out in and also have friends over for a meal etc and not be embarrassed and constantly apologising for the state of the place! I really hope that one day I will settle down and have a nice house! That is what I am aiming for anyway! Really makes me think that if I didn't have all this debt being paid out every month, I could afford to have nice things...makes me quite sad really, but at least I have stopped with the spending now...

Really pleased with myself today! Another no spend day! Cannot remember the last time I didn't spend money for 2 whole days! Also double proud...I made myself some soup for lunch today and put it in my thermos flask...when I got to work, I found that the flask had smashed! :( and rather than use that as an excuse to go to Maccy D's or the shop to buy sandwiches etc I simply used the bread roll I had to fill it with marmite (I keep a jar in my drawer for some strange reason!) and I ate the fruit I took with me too, felt a little hungry but rather be a little hungry till I get home as opposed to spending about £4 on some food! Yay me! Gonna have a look through and try and find my latest Credit Card bills tonight as well as try and list something on ebay...not sure what, but must have something I can list! Right off to find something in this house that I can eat!
Back soon, luv the kebabmeister xxx

Right have managed to list 5 things on ebay! They are 5 DVDs...all Disney ones and 2 of them are brand new! I have so many DVDs...they can't fit on the shelves anymore (so clutter!) and I think if I haven't watched them in a couple of years why keep them? Might think about listing a few more soon as they are very easy to list, with regards to just typing in the barcode/ean number thing on the back, so no need to take photos as they can use a stock picture! Also half price insertion day today too! so they charged me 7p per DVD to list...so not technically a NSD I suppose but hopefully the 35p will be worth it in the long run! :D

Also had a thought...if I can get organised in the morning and cycle to work each day, I can afford to leave 20 mins later, therefore meaning that my daughter doesn't have to go to breakfast club, saving me approximately £2.50 a week...small amount but it all helps!

Had an email from the guy buying my record decks...wants to pay for them! Gonna have to work out best way of tackling these cards by looking at amounts and APR etc.

Right I am off to raid that DVD shelf again methinks! I am feeling shattered so won't be able to find those darn Credit Card bills as need to get some sleep. Think I am starting to come down with that fluey thing that everyone seems to be getting :( I don't tend to ever get ill...I am lucky like that...daughter is the same. But this has come at the worst time ever as on 14th October I am due to run my first half marathon, so need to be mega fit and healthy for that. Started running 13 weeks ago and have gone from not being able to run to the end of the road and for no longer than 10 minutes, to being able to run nearly 12 miles non stop, takes about 2 hours or so of non stop running. Never would have thought it could be done! So am running Cardiff half marathon and am really excited!

    Right DVDs.......

Another 5 DVDs on ebay now and I am shattered! 70p in total then but hope that they sell for something...sat on the shelf making the place look even more untidy! Hoepfully the 5 Disney ones I have listed will make a couple of quid?

Off to bed in a bit so goodnight all you DFWs and see you all soon!

Thank god it is Friday tomorrow! Weekend is nearly here...woo hoo!

    Nighty night!

Hey Donner - surely if yours is a council place they have to make it at least moderately better for you? When my mum and I lived in a council flat following her divorce I remember getting paint, wallpaper etc to do it up and they replaced the windows to make it warmer (I was little at the time, suppose that helped) - wouldn't hurt to hound them a bit!

Bets of luck with your eBaying! xx

Thanks bobbadog! Have a few watchers already on the dvds! Hooray!
The council are useless...they already know about all of the problems and have checked the lace over and agree it's a dump! They said they would do something about it and always say that are sending people out but no one ever arrives. I should hound them a lot more really I suppose...shame but probably a case of whingers get things done first! I work full time too so can cause problems trying to get time off, especially when they state a time to arrive and then they never show! Grrrrrrr!

Donna, think of it as a job. I'm quite a lot older than you - so old that I was brought up as a socialist! You're talking about benefits of social housing that you're *entitled* to, thats the social contract we live under. And if they want you to jump through the additional hoops of phone calls or letters or forms or whatever, then do it. Thats the work you do to get the work from them done.

That was my attitude when I was a student - which, again, was so long ago that we were entitled to benefits not only during the long summer break, but during the Christmas and Easter holidays too.... if they wanted me to sit in the benefits hall in a queue and then answer questions in a cubicle, so be it, my parents paid taxes all their lives for me to be taken care of that way. Same for you. We all, including you, pay out in lots of ways so that social housing can be maintained. Its your right, you're not whingeing.

Can you tell I feel very strongly about this? 23_33_7.gif :rotfl:
Uh, if I get shot down for writing this, I'll just delete it, okay? Don't want to offend anyone, or get into a debate, its just how I feel about this stuff.
