if paypal go against you then you pay the same.
trading standards will(IMHO) do nothing against somone selling one back which turns out to be fake

One thing to remember is that Trading standards cannot themselves verify if something is fake or not, so they won't be issuing any note to that effect. The only people who can say if it is fake or not are the manufacturers themselves.

This is the latest email. I have replied stating he can return again, and said this is the last email I will be sending until I receive the bag back.

I have one bag left which is currently on auction.
I have only done the same test as Trading Standards would do.

I will require the full amount I have stated. If I have to go through PayPal you will be suspended as you are also listing another fake item. ie. the Louis Vuitton bag.

I want to avoid all this - but will only do so if you agree via email to refund all charges as stated.

Call their bluff. Bag returned first then refund.

It seems like they are a blowing a lot of hot air, don't fall for it.

One thing though add them to your blocked buyers list in case they try & bid on the bag you currently have listed.

OP, I hope you're 100% satisfied that these bags are genuine...
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I have already done this, thanks for your advice.

I have never come across such a pushy bully in the 4 years I've been on ebay. Haven't had another email yet...

I was assured that they were genuine at the boutique I bought them from, and didn't have any reason not to believe them.
This is the only problem I've had in the 7 bags I have sold.

by all means offer a refund. but dont refund any moneys until you have the bag back.
of course once you have the bag back there are lots of ways to turn the tables on the buyer/bully!

Remember though that 95% of the people out there are ok. Mentioning trading standards etc over £4.06 is taking a sledgehammer to the situation and that's pretty sad as it goes. I pity the people who have to deal with the sellers 'anger management' issues more often than you do!

Give me their address and I'll ask 'the boys' to go round for educational purposes:)

I have now received the bag back today from the buyer, and it looks like he's used bleach on a cotton bud to try to remove the pen mark.

I am willing to refund, but I begrudge refunding back the postage, as I will have lost £5 in doing this, and especially as he's been such a 'know it all' bully about the whole thing.

The tone of his emails to me are as if he's speaking to a child.

I would have refunded no questions if he hadn't been such an ar*e.

If I refund minus the postage cost, would he still be able to do a 'not as described' or similar dispute?

I know that I will probably get a neg, but not too bothered as I have nearly 1000 feedback @ 99.6%.

I am going away on holiday tomorrow (which I told him), but I'm in 2 minds whether to leave it and let him do a dispute, which is what he's threatened to do if I don't refund before I go away.

    Any thoughts?
