Google Wins Approval to Construct New London Headquarters
Google U.K. won approval to construct a campus alongside the technology company’s existing offices in London’s King’s Cross district.
The project, which can accommodate as many as 5,000 workers, was approved late Thursday by members of the borough council. The building will be longer than the Shard -- the European Union’s highest building -- is tall and construction is due to commence next year.

This is an aspect of Brexit that I don't think we discuss enough.

While I may not agree with all you write about Brexit, the degree of uncertainty it is causing is horrible. It doesn't matter whether those affected are Brits in Europe, or EU citizens here, it is clearly very stressful.

I hope you get answers about your future soon.

    Thank you Vivatifosi,
There is a human cost to Brexit that keyboard warriors have no feelings for. This not only effects those citizens living in each other's countries but the economic damage that might see people loose their jobs in any of the EU28.
As probably the only poster on this thread not living in the UK I continue to hope that my unique perspective can be usefull.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

You quote what you fits your agenda. The UK will simply adapt to the outcome.

Seems as if the EU rules have cost the UK dearly. Will this be factored into the divorce bill?

I thought that was the rule.

Brexiters quote Britains successes and EU problems since the referendum.

Remainers quote Britains growing problems since the referendum.

You as a Brexiter play by those rules and I as a remainer do the same.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Having had dinner tonight with some EU citizen the general feel of the atmosphere was that they are taking this EU vote personally. If that is true for EU politicians too then I fear it might be a case of biting your nose off to spite your face. They may be willing to harm us economically even if it harms themselves. A messy divorce.

Hopefully the two year, or perhaps 2 year + extension will see ill feelings diminish

Biting your nose off?? That is not the correct phrase at all.

The EU could ease all your concerns immediately.

    They choose not to.

A referendum vote isn't really a vote directed towards other people though is it?

You can not know what the voting intentions are of the person in the next booth to you, never mind across the country. Even the pollsters misjudged things.

You could argue that people voted in pure self interest, rather than any sense of national collective interest, and that might be valid.

I think there is too much blame being apportioned towards ordinary voters. They had a value judgement to make; they turned out in large numbers and made their decision.

Don't you think there is a human cost for people who felt impacted by mass migration, which caused them to vote to leave?

You make it sound all one way, when it really isn't.

Not a view that I concur with. Both the UK and EU have economic problems to address. Problems that existed well before the referendum. Attaching everything to Brexit is just sheer nonsense.

FoM appears to have brought with it serious social issues to the UK. These have a far greater impact on peoples daily lives. Than trade deals for multinational companies. Who ultimately are only driven by profit as to where to base their operations. Control of our borders is a key issue. One which the EU was unwilling to compromise on.

I don't expect the EU to remain in it's current form now that the UK is leaving. As I've said on many occasions the core of the EU has long term goals. These can only be achieved by complete fiscal integration. The political overtones of the project are all very clear to see as well.

That won't take the shine off the tin plated parping Brexit-mobile. Farting out Rule Britannia and driving over EU citizens rights while it does so.

Of course it'll crash into a tree someway down the road then they'll all get out, shrugging. Then they'll sit down by the side of the road stuffing their gobs with sour cream pringles and watching Jeremy Kyle on their phones while they wait for someone to come along and sort out their mess.

Anyway, yes, considering that Brexit has fairly effectively sliced the UK into two, and the Remain side would like to set the Leave people adrift in the Atlantic somewhere, its possibly safe to assume the Europeans feel much the same.
