‘We wouldn’t do this to our worst enemy,’ says one EU official, watching the disarray in Britain. As Brexit talks start Monday, Britain’s back is hard against a wall. And nobody, not even in Brussels, wanted it that way.The EU’s stance on major Brexit issues has been ironclad for months, backed by the 27 nations in a disciplined display of unity. Second-guessing about May’s approach has intensified since her election setback, so much so that there have been calls for the EU to avert potential disaster by laying out clear paths for the U.K.’s exit.
Round of applause. :T

What an utter mess you got us into, brexiteers.

Shouldn't your rage be directed at the people who wanted to Remain but didn't bother to vote?
BTW for somebody who claimed a few months ago they were reconciled with leaving the EU you don't seem all that reconciled. Kind of more like obsessed & furious still.0 -

You must have misinterpreted my post. No rage nor fury here.
I'm quite looking forward to these 'negotiations' actually.
The EU seems to have their ducks in a row.
Popcorn time.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -
For those interested here is a link to a list of the negotiators on both side with interesting potted history.

But I do like your confidence.
Something I wish we all could agree on.
Maybe the media focus will be intense for a week or two, and then boredom will set in as the banality of the discussions starts to become apparent.
If they handed over the entire A50 process to Spielberg, there would be fireworks; fisticuffs; an appearance by Bruce Willis as the token guy in the wrong place at the wrong time...but it would be over in 2 hours.0 -

Better to let Peter Jackson direct it then. A full directors cut spanning a minimum of 3 films. End of the first film will be with Davis & Co sailing back and landing on Brighton beach.0 -

I know he is not everyone's cup of tea, but Peter Mandelson made the point today that if Britain is to obtain the best deal it needs to understand the way Brussels Eurocrats think. He said that they will stick rigidly to the EU rules for negotiation and Britain needs to appreciate that.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

“That’ll be the row of the summer,” the Brexit secretary said on Sunday.
