In a way, if Trump delivers on trade, perhaps even taking advantage of the UK needs, then he can sell this back home.

Needs to deliver on tax reform at a domestic level.

An US president with domestic problems is in more need of a positive projection abroad, IMO.

Who really knows how it will all pan out. It does feel like things change at an increasing rate nowadays though.

The US needs a win. We need a win. I think they'll be like "Let's do this".

    Bye Bye Eu

So apparently Fox has said he's open to the UK allowing US exports of chlorinated chicken, hormone-fed beef and GM crops and that we're overreacting about it:

Glad to see we'll be keeping our standards up.

The US needs a win, and needs to appear to boost the local economy whilst being hard on imports. We need whatever we can get. This could be a very one-sided deal.

Like people care where their chicken comes from ! I bet most of the public don't have a clue just how many broilers get shipped in from Thailand. Go and have a look at the conditions on the web some time.

I like the chicken n rice from the Halal guys in Manhattan. Do you reckon halal slaughtering is nice? Hardly.

Why not just ditch all of our food safety standards whilst we're at it so we can bring in the cheapest crap from around the globe?

Chlorine rinsed chicken is deemed safe by the US Food Safety Standards committee. It's deemed safe by the EU's scientific advisors.

The EU have banned it. Perfect example of EU protectionism at work.

BTW, what's that stuff they put in water to make it safe to drink?

They're worried that our dirty farmers will drop their hygiene standards assuming that the Chlorine will do all the work meaning we'll be getting mingin chickens covered in chlorine. That's the main concern I believe.

France and others have poor animal husbandry standards, force feeding geese, cruelty to veal calves etc.

Remaoners are so desperate and comical now.
