Do you know if someone on the UK side is drafting an equivalent paper and when it will be released? Or do we just rely on Boris' 'go whistle'?

We must assume that privately both Britain and the EU have costed the 11 pages produced by the EU.
That being the case the "number" must be being whispered around Whitehall. Why that whisper has not appeared in print is a mystery.
Further what is even stranger is no one on Britains side (tame journo etc) has jumped on page 4, line 12 and shouted RIDICULOUS!!
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Are we not talking about different standards and the effect they have on cost and complexity any more? :)

It is a problem for Britain when leaving the EU. Therefore of no interest to Brexiters.
They will move on however as more and more "problems" arise they will find themselves boxed in and still rushing towards the cliff.

With BMW having a major production unit in the USA producing vehicles for both domestic sale and export (I have one) they are well placed to be compliant for world markets. They are already inside the tent!
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
  • Has anybody noticed how the screeching of pro-remain/pro-EU advocates has intensified as the repeal bill legislation draws nearer?
The same happened before Article 50 was put forward, before the general election and on days leading up to the referendum too.
Not that they are worried though - they have accepted the result of the democratic referendum, they tell us.

"Chocolate Orange"; "Labour will crush bill" ................ what an absolute load of juvenile male cattle!
If or when any of this happens THEN you may gloat; beforehand you are doing no more than many sheeple and falling for media hype which results whilst each jostles to gain higher reader numbers.
From how badly this has gone for these pro-EU/pro-remain protagonists on the above occasions you would think that they should have learned to moderate their approach somewhat.
    Sadly it appears not.

Now is there any chance of at least some semblance of a balanced approach?

What is it with MayBot and courts?

She has criticised the High Court, the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, she failed to defend the judges over that abbhorent "enemies of the people" headline and she clearly doesn't have any respect for the ECJ.

It surprises me that people aren't concerned that we seem to have such a dangerous authoritarian in charge given that authoritarians only have respect for one rule of law - their own.

Evidence of those allegations of criticism please?
Speaking during Prime Minister’s questions, Ms May voiced her support for the independence of the judiciary

She doesn't like scrutiny. She just wants to impose her demands without anyone talking back to her or pointing out how something is illegal, immoral or just impractical.

I'm bored of this standards argument.

Sometimes sheer size triumphs over rules on paper.

Take the Kirin mobile CPU range. You are starting to find them in millions and millions of smartphones, as a challenge to ARM based devices.

Do you think the Chinese producers worried about early rfi challenges and conformance to Western standards?

Nah. It was just a hurdle. They found a mass market OUTSIDE of Europe willing to create the pull. This was India. Sure, early phones lacked b20, but it didn't deter early adopters here.

When the UK entered the EU, our zone accounted for 30% of global trade.

Today, the EU zone accounts for 15%.

There will be a point soon where it accounts for 10%.

So, where do you honestly think the new demand for standards will come from?

I really don't see why people think the EU is the centre of the global village now. It's not.

We're wasting our energy debating because ardent Remaoners just do not get Brexit, ignore the upside completely and won't give it up until the day finally comes when we've left and all is well.

It's just semi amusing reading thier funny arguments born out of pessimism and confidence issues

The scale of Remoaner manipulation is off the chart, this morning Clegg said where's the £350 m for the NHS when we haven't even left. Like arguing with a red neck about evolution.

Here's an interesting report: according to many certainly in this forum, UK higher education in the form of universities will go to pot post-Brexit. European applicants won't want to come to the UK, we are told by some.

Well that's not what figures from Cambridge themselves are suggesting in this report just released - in fact they have seen an increase.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/2017/07/12/cambridge-set-seize-brexit-opportunities-increasing-postgraduate/

This paint by numbers dozy thinking permeates the entire Remaon tribe.

They tell me we are a laughing stock in Europe, it's just one of thier many infantile feeling based arguments and utterly untrue in terms of the everyday European outside the Brusells privelege chamber
