Hi all
We have just bought a house. We need to completely change the bathroom as it is an old avocado suite and it has carpet! Basically we need to do the following:
- Remove old suite and tiles
- Remove carpet
- Move waste pipe to the other side
- Install new suite
- Tiling
- Install new extractor fan
- Paint where needed
- Install new radiator
How much should I expect to pay for someone to do that? Not including the suite, tiles, extractor fan, paint or radiator.

How can anyone answer that. How big is your bathroom, who will dispose of the items, what is the area of tiling, what condition will the walls be after old tiles off, where is the paint needed, do you want as cheap a job as possible or do you want Quality?0

2.2m x 1.8m. Not sure what the state of the walls will be but if it's like the rest of the house then I imagine pretty good. Tiling all the way up where the bath is and then half way around the rest of the bathroom. It's a 1930s semi so pretty high ceilings. Paint the other half. I want decent quality but it doesn't need to be the best of the best.0

get two/three quotes then come back on here0

I've had three quotes. £2,200, £2,700 and £1,500. The first two seem pretty high to me.0

You mean you prefer to go for the cheapest one?
You need to identify what each one is going to do for their money.
Will a skip be included? Does it include any plastering? If there are any electrics being done, is it done by a qualified tradesman and will appropriate certificate be given?Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Thanks. Good point I will get a breakdown of costs.0

Right new quote - £2,200 to do the bathroom, tile the floor of the ground floor WC and paint the house (walls, ceilings, wood). I need to provide the following:
- Suite
- Plumbing
- Paint
- Tiles, adhesive, grout etc
- Radiator
- Fan
- Lights
Seems reasonable to me?0 -
How many days is he suggesting and for how many guys?Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
