BA Cabin Crew Strike - Cancellations

BA cabin crew have announced a strike for this month and I will be flying back to the UK from Hungary during the strike.

I keep seeing online that i will be offered a refund or an alternative flight if my flight gets cancelled but I cannot see the answer to these questions:

1- will I get to choose between an alternative flight or refund? Or is it BA that make that choice?
2- if I choose a refund and book a flight which costs more and I paid for both flights by credit card, will my credit card pay me the difference?
3 - can I just ask my credit card company to put me on a different flight at their expense because I paid through them?

answers
1) you have the choice of refund or alternate flight (this will likely be another BA flight but may also be a partners flight)
2) unlikely, unless you have some sort of special terms with your credit card - new one to me
3) just ask BA...I doubt your credit card company will have access to the booking systems to change your booking

there have been a number of these strikes with very little impact for passengers and few cancellations

Now that would REALLY be a good reason to get a credit card..!
