Anyone ever put fabric cond on hair???

The reason I ask is that in a mag I'm reading, Gok Wan from the naked tv programme says he swears by Comfort as a budget alternative to a £145 over night intensive hair conditioner. Now I've put all sorts on my hair including eggs and beer, but I've never heard of this one.
I'm going to give it a go on my OH's hair as mine is a bit delicate at the mo and I'm worried it may fall out or something awful. We've decided not to use tesco value which is what I've got in my cupboard so I'm going to buy a small bottle. At least it will smell nice!

I have used fabric conditioner in my hair, just like normal conditioner and it seemed to work fine. Not too sure about leaving it on all night tho'Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

I've used fabric conditioner a few times before (simply because I'd run out of hair conditioner and was too skint/short of time to buy any more). I've never left it on overnight, but can report no ill-effects. It also leaves hair with no static cling, and ever so easy to iron
As well as this, I've used washing-up liquid as an emergency shampoo substitute in the past too. In addition, I'm told sugar and water make great hairspray for a *real* budget hairdoEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
I'm sure that I read somewhere that fabric and hair conditioner are virtually the same. Hair conditioner is just given a thicker consistency and nicer perfume ....and of course you are charged more for it. Have you compared the list of ingredients?0

I am now so tempted to use comfort easy iron on my hair!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740

i Use the fabric sheets you put in the dryer to get rid of my flyaway hairs just smooth over your hair once dry! They work brilliantly although i do get some funny looks in the pub toilets!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

"Have you compared the list of ingredients?"
I haven't, I only read the article today and I just found it bizarre. I am def going to give it a go after reading what everyone's said. I do fall down on money saving when it comes to my hair, its about my only vice although I'm alot better than I used to be. I only ever buy stuff when I've run out and branded products when they're on offer.
just remembered the other money saving one was.... an oldie but a goodie instant gloss by squeezing a fresh lemon from roots and then combing through instant shine! Just don't go out in the sun, not that there's much chance of that at the mo0 -
Don't leave lemon in your hair - the acid can damage your scalp and hair - it'll strip all natural oils and protection.
Mayonaise is another I have heard for hair treatment... never used it myself
Personally if I need some special treatment for my hair I just use hair conditioner with a drop or two of fabric conditioner in and then apply liberally tomy hair, wrap in towel, have hot bath for as long as I can stand :rotfl: then I wash it out before going to bedDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! a bit of olive oil and then wrapping head in tin foil to keep the heat on works a treat (means the aliens cant tap your brain waves either) just wash it out well. Though poundland at the moment are doing 18 pouch boxes of pantene intensive for well £1 hope this helps they were 1.09 a pouch in boots in the same road!0
