Looks like sending PINS and cards out on same day in envelopes which make it obvious what they are isn't a good idea - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-41081396
These b******s should be given very long prison sentences, but I doubt that will happen.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

They are not sending them out on the same day though. Posties will get to know what is in envelopes and will take the card one day and wait for the PIN.

Usually the PIN comes first (or it usually has done for me). I guess this is becuase they are less readily identifiable as a PIN so less likely to be stolen than the card which will obviously be a card.

I've also noticed my TSB card is a very similar colour to my Co Op membership card which can be very confusing.
Should the TSB make their cards a darker shade of blue?

I recently realised that all my cards are the same size! Does anyone else find this confusing when they are shopping at night?

You're both wrong. It's mostly Maggie Thatcher's fault.

Isn't everything? Any remaining blame should be apportioned to Tony Blair.:)
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

To the OP - I've also had the same happen in the past with TSB/BoS/Halifax/Lloyds. Some cards and PINs arrived on the same day - so you're not alone.

As for the recent BBC investigation relating to criminal gangs and dodgy posties, there are several things you can do to stop this from happening:

    - don't fund your recently opened current account until you've received the debit card and PIN. Those 3 days or so earning a few pence interest are not worth it if you're defrauded.

    - check your credit score/file for any recent searches or credit card applications that were not done by you. I personally do this once per month.

    - then there are the obvious things like shredding/burning confidential papers, being mindful if you have a shared letterbox, etc.

Let's not make it easy for the criminals. ;)
