I recently bought a Samsung Gear VR from a seller - it wasn't cheap, it was the same price as many others, i only bought from them because it seemed like they had sold quite a few without any issues.

(although the item has now been revised and shows a business address of Hong Kong)
As you can see there are UK flags all around the item and states that the item is in the UK.
However, the item that has arrived has Chinese writing on the box and the manuals etc are in Chinese - there is not one word of English anywhere.
I opened a case:
The seller has just replied:
And as above, their business details now show Hong Kong and not Manchester as in the original listing.
I am concerned the item is fake or at least an import and also concerned about the warranty or lack of.
What do i do now?

07 Jun You created a return
Reason for return Doesn't seem authentic
Comments Item is a Chinese import. The box has nothing written in English and there are no English instructions - only Chinese.
There is no mention that the item is either a grey import or not authentic. Had the listing stated anything about the item being an import/non-authentic i would not have purchased.
I paid the correct price for an original English Samsung Gear VR.

hi my dear buyer, all our items are 100% genuine produced from Samsung exactly, Samsung it a Korea company and all the Samsung factories are also build up in China , so the gift box have some Chinese words on the gift box is normal , most of the items are also have difference languages on it but this is not mean it is fake item not genuine , your complaint is very unfair to me, I'm a honest seller and I also working in Hongkong Ebay, please check it clearly... this is Samsung Chinese website: https://www.samsungshop.com.cn/ I HOPE YOU ARE NOT BUSINESS COMPETITOR DISTURB thanks

You have a case open, you need to wait and see what happens.
On day 8, you can escalate it to eBay to make a decision. Likelihood is they will ask you to return it.
In future, if you are going to post and ask for advice, do it before you open a case - it makes life more simple to file a SNAD than to call the item counterfeit.
Hopefully it will be ruled in your favour. You may want to bolster your reason for return as it may sound like remorse to CS. *Remember this is Manila you are talking with.
The revised item has no bearing on the item you purchased, you need to view your purchase history, that is the relevant description.
BTW I am getting nothing on the link (could be me?)0 -
yes looks like the item is removed as nothing coming up for the item number0

I've tried searching for your item and only found your other questions.
You may find better advice on the item elsewhere but you won't find better advice on eBay/paypal than here.
Firstly, do not worry. You have the case open. As per my initial post you may want to bolster the "reason" for your case. That will make life easy for you and eBay.
Secondly, if the eBay case fails, do not worry, you have a second cherry bite with a Paypal case. Do NOT open one until you've exhausted everything here. Take advice from those other forum by all means, but if you want to get your money back easily, hang in here.0 -
Does the item still show in your purchase history or has the item been removed by eBay (not the current item, your historic purchase).
Can you (if you want to) post the description of the item.
What have you said specifically in your case.
What reason did you give when opening the case.
Have you got the item yet?0 -

Yes.
Do you have the item?
What was your "reason" for case opening and what you have said in the case?0 -
07 jun you created a return
reason for return doesn't seem authentic

Just re reading your OP. Have you opened a 'return' or is this a 'case'. You need to open a case for SNAD (significantly not as described). You can open it for being counterfeit or an easier option is perhaps realising there is a fault or it is damaged or it is not as described (red when it should be blue etc).
Your OP says 'case' but your quote says 'created a return'.0 -
Looking in my resolution centre, no cases are open and i "have created a return"
I have no idea what this means - do i need to escalate? EBay are saying i have to wait 8 days for the seller to respond.0
