Agggggh, these days even a mediocre phone is able to take fairly decent videos and photos, it is a bad excuse :wall:

From above. The thick grey cable with the red stripe on it is a CD drive? and it is an IDE. So where are the two hard disks? yes I can see one, but not the second?

And you may as well blow out the dust while it is open too

    This is one SATA disk

There are browser addons to shrink the photos on the pics down. It is better to have a detailed large picture than a small fuzzy one :)

Sorry I got it wrong, understood wrongly you took a second hdd out of an xp machine.

the first ide1 is the blue (check the mboard as it should say so on the board) and i would put the plug into that, but you could have had the bios disable the first ide and only used the secondary one? Also in the bios disable the second ide2.

To be honest I would disable both ide ports on the bios, and just get the sata disk to boot, and worry about the cd once the drive has booted

also that ide cable??? well that motherbard is a fairly modern, with two different colour for ide. The ide on it it a very old 40 core cable. Newer ide cables were 80 core cables with blue, grey and black connectors on them? The difference is automatic cable select, or manual cable select.
