BT link from the main pages results in error.

Hello there, yesterday I had several attempts to sign up to the BT infinity 1 service including line rental using the link provided in the top picks in the MSE main pages. Unfortunately every time I get to the final stage, where I'm about to set up the payment, and I'm told there's been an error. I'm then given a choice to recover my order along with a few other options. Going down the recovery trail results in going through the order again only to get to the same point and told I've an error again, an infinity loop of frustration
.
I've tried to sign up first on my phone then my tablet and finally my laptop (which does display things better) but had exactly the same result.
I've tried using BT's live chat, they tried to set up the deal remotely (I was doubtful the deal would track this way) but even this resulted in the same error and I was asked to call them instead.
I tried again this morning and still had no joy so I called them. I've been told that the site that I'm entering my details on although looks like a BT site actually isn't and it's the host of that site that's at fault and nothing to do with BT. I've subsequently wondered why then was I able to talk to the BT live chat advisor. Sounds like utter hokum to me. What do you guys think?

I don't have any cookie or ad blocking software. It's the 'best buys' rather than 'top picks' on this page.....

I've just tried a link to BT through topcashback and had the same error, so, I moved to the main BT website and tried to sign up directly through them. Guess what, same error, what on earth is going on here?0

Good advice but I'd already tried that possible solution, same result in an alternative newly cleaned browser. Had another go with BT live chat and got nowhere.
Is anyone else experiencing this trouble over the last couple of days?0
