Travelodge: -Never- book breakfast before you stay

I shall pass on the OPs advice to the downstairs staff0

I use Travelodge quite regularly. I've only once had breakfast, which was booked in advance as part of the saver rate - to be honest I guess I assumed neither the room nor the breakfast was refundable if I wasn't able to stay for some reason.
However, I shall heed your advice and not book breakfast again in advance. Good luck with your claim but I'd be surprised it you're successful with it.0 -
Tain, you make a perfectly valid point, and it's a very useful warning to people - thank you.
Ignore the trolls who just love picking holes in valid points and trying to defend the indefensible.0 -
Thank you, your advice could be useful in the future.0

I was just googling to check whether this is the case and came across your thread so thank you for answering my question. I won't be booking breakfast or wifi in advance!0

Good point well made OP.Ignore the nit pickers,it's sound advice0

The only problem I have with Travel Lodge is when you purchase breakfast in advance they don't say if they have a restaurant at that particular Travel Lodge so you end up spending £5 for a breakfast box. This includes a box of cereal, bottle of milk, carton of orange and a muffin. Definitely not worth the money.0

Not sure why you;ve resurrected this really old thread, but as you have, in response to your comment I've never booked a Travelodge where it's not been clear in the website description if there's an on-site restaurant serving breakfasts or not.
And I think the booking process makes it clear if the breakfast on offer is a hot buffet style or a breakfast box ?0 -
Hi Tain I didn't realise you didn't get a refund on extras like the breakfast order until we cancelled last year, we booked breakfast and evening meals and lost the lot due to an unforeseen Circumstances, you are correct to point this out because not everyone reads the terms and conditions I know we should but most people don’t.so thanks again for your input.

Thanks Tain. I often book saver rates with breakfast and knew I wouldn’t get room rate back but presumed I would get extras back like breakfast as they are not any cheaper. Good to know. With Premier Inn I couldn’t make my booked saver rate room so I just never turned up. They charged me a no show rate for the room, so I ended up paying twice for a room I never used. I eventually got the second charge back but it took a lot of emails and phone calls so if you cannot make your saver rate room, it is better to cancel it. Could save you a lot of hassle.0
