Some cars, the power from the front to rear dash-cam can interfere with radio signals, sometimes FM, sometimes DAB, or both.

I only found this out when I noticed the DAB in my new car wasn't as good as wife's car. Transpires that the USB I was using to charge phone wasn't suppressed and so using the lead as an antenna and interfering. Same applies to the power lead that powers the rear cam on some cams / cars.

Looking back, this happened on my old car - I fed the rear dash-cam from the rear wiper feed (via its own fuse of course), FM was no where near as good as pre-fitting, although never really put 2 and 2 together.

Yep a lead with a pasetic bead may have helped immensely, but it is not covered in the 1st few lessons or even the 1st year of electronics (well not when I studied it).

    Hi All,
I ma thinking of getting thinkware f770 front and back dashcam.
I saw RAC does this for 388 including fitting which they can do at home.
Wondering if any one has used them?
    Thank you.

I got RAC to fit F770 front and 750 rear to my SQ5. I consider myself competent at DIY and have fitted a dash cam previously. It is not rocket science, but it can be tricky and time consuming. On this occasion, I am glad I left fitting to a man with experience and the correct tools for the job. :A

    Thanks Guys.
RAC does hard wire it to get the parking mode working.
I have no expeirence and never seen an actual fuse box in a car.
    I will check avmobiles.

I think you need to familiarise yourself with your car and its fuses incase a fuse blows for head lights or something.
