Hi All,
I ma thinking of getting thinkware f770 front and back dashcam.
I saw RAC does this for 388 including fitting which they can do at home.
Wondering if any one has used them?
Thank you.

Have you hard-wired a front and rear dash cam?

I wouldn't say it's difficult to hard wire dash cams but it can be time consuming especially the rear one because you have to find a suitable route for the wires to the front of the car. Using a Fuse Tap is the easiest option to get the power from the 12 V socket fuse (assuming that it comes on and off with the ignition).

Do they hardwire it? Or will it just connect to a power/lighter socket?

Does the RAC fit them or just call your local auto electrition? Cheaper to go direct?

    Yes I have :)

But it depends on the OP`s car and skill level, which is why I asked how hard it can be.
  • I had the same dashcam fitted by avrmobiles. Can recommend them and cheaper than rac. £333 at the moment.

    Thanks Guys.
RAC does hard wire it to get the parking mode working.
I have no expeirence and never seen an actual fuse box in a car.
    I will check avmobiles.

Never heard about this company avrmobiles.. Has anyone used this company in London. Dont want a cowboy to come and mess with my car.
  • The rear camera just plugs into the front dashcam, no additional power needed !! All they do is hide the wires in the rubber panel !!

    In which rubber panels?
Some people for some reason will make a hash of everything they do, some some tasks are not DIY.
As for running wires when I used to fit ICE systems, it was not unknown to be removing seats and carpet to run wires.
Trouble nowadays is some are having the display in the area of vision (same with satnavs) looks so naff to me.
