Talktalk scam?

So I messaged talk talk a couple of months ago to book canceling my service and they told me I had to cancel within 30 days of my contract ending.
I have now contacted them and they have said I have to give 30 days notice. So to cancel I have to ring them on the exact day, 30 days before.
My bill is due to double after the promotion period and now I can't cancel without paying a full months bill on top that I don't want.
Are they allowed to do this?

Yes, it's in your T&C's. All telecom services (landline, broadband, mobile) have a 30 day notice period after the minimum contract term has been reached.0

Ok, but surely you should be able to gove notice before. It should be at least 30 days notice. What if 30 days before lands on a sunday and you can't contact them?0

As far as I am aware you can give notice from 30 days prior to the end of the minimum term which allows you to leave at the end of the minimum term.0

Most ISPs have call centres that are open 7 days a week and bank holidays. No different calling up on a Sunday to calling up on a Wednesday.
I really wish MSE filters could just remove the word 'scam' from the forums. I can't remember the last time a 'scam' thread was actually one!0 -
You can cancel anything you want giving 30 days notice, but if you cancel before the last 30 days then you have to pay upto the end of your contract.
This is the same with All telecom services0 -

I didnt want to cancel before, I wanted to book my account to cancel on the end kf the contract date. The fact that I have to do it exactly 30 days before is absurd.0
