Then a few weeks ago, husband tried to change channel so he moved to an area of good reception to see if the LCD would respond but it was still just blotchy boxes. So he couldn't change station either! And he thought I was just being dim - no, that was the LCD!

So yesterday I took it back to Argos with the receipt (such a horder!) and asked what my options were (knowing full well, repair/replacement/refund). They said, knowing Alba/Bush's service dept, it would be easier to give me a refund! Wonderful service from Argos, shame about the Alba.

So now I'm £17.49 better off but without a radio!

I got the Pure One digital radio (in pink). It works beautifully and the sound is wonderful. It's £45.71 now at Amazon; we got it for under £40 before Christmas. It's a lot more money than what you paid for the Alba, but if you really want a good digital, I can highly recommend this one.
