i cant comment on bush, alba or goodmans but because theyre cheap it doesn't neccessarily mean theyre of poor build quality etc0

While listening to DAB on freeview is good it's a bit inconvenient carrying my 28 inch CRT telly into the kitchen.
Also, if you listen to radio on your TV, you're going to be putting a lot of unnecessary wear and tear on your telly screen as well!

I had one of the Alba 'best buy' digital radios and reception was poor. Also the aerial broke off (it didn't take much for it to break!) and I couldn't find a new one anywhere (now they are so cheap it's not worth trying anyway!)0

Apologies if that has already been said (this is a long thread) but since I bought my wifi radios, I barely use Dab any longer - and Curry's are currently selling a Logik IR100 Wifi radio for 40 of your eeeeenglish pounds!0

A few people have mentioned damaging their tv screens when listening to freeview radio. If you press your red button to go to text, and then press 0, the screen goes black to save your screen.0

Another problem is that many of these cheap DAB sets are only mono. What's the point of buying a mono DAB set to replace a stereo FM one?"Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0

I have cable for my TV so it doesn't work for me either.

The major disadvantage of DAB that people should know before buying is that they are power hungry. You cannot run a DAB radio for long on batteries (a few hours). If you're like me and you like to take your radio around the house with you, or you're a worker who likes to carry your radio inside and outside without having to find a power socket, analogue radios win over DAB. My little analogue radio lasts for months on 4 x AA batteries.0

The speakers on most FM sets are so close together the stereo effect is negated. A lot of the dab sets have line-out so they can be connected to a proper stereo.0
