Hi guys/gals-my keyboard is a bit sticky only months old-cheapest from Argos....argggg ......various keys don't work. I have an ancient one upstairs.....will switch it. Plus G/F needed more help than usul so again apologies for the late reply-very rude I know.

In answer to some questions....final bill call back from T mob/EE tomorrow pm. If they can't help we'll switch look at the capped sims suggested- before I sign up I will make sure they DO cut off when allowences are used she has a text alert. We do have a dual Sim phone-a basic Alcatel-will perhaps switch to that.

In relation to the care plan-the service she's had where I live has been BRILLIANT-most of my friends are in Norfolk/Suffolk services there are shockingly bad.

I will update you tomorrow pm/Saturday with what has occurred. Obviously if EE/T mob DO knock a large ammt. off bill it'll be on the proviso of a new, slightly dearer sim with them that was my understanding from previous conversations with them. I'll deffo make sure it's a rolling day deal she's not tied in for a year/ months with them.

Again-thanks SO much foir taking the time to reply. Gives you back some faith in peoples good nature They've just put her on an additional med so she'll get there. Usually she's well for 5-6 yrs-sometimes off the meds complately-so she's not a 'typical' Bi Polar case. Thanks again-will update more shortly.

Make double sure before agreeing. In my experience working in the industry many caps are 'soft' caps meaning- you can over-ride them. Additionally text alerts are usually considered a courtesy and their non-arrival will not be considered grounds to reduce a bill.

    UPDATE.

Well....bill ended up at £702 (f*ck me???!), EE knocked £150 off which was good but their sim only offerings were very dear. We've paid £250 & will pay the balance when G/F comes back from overseas (she tried to pay it but bank blocked her card as a security measure-EE are fine with her paying on return & no change on credit file whatsover).

We've gone for 2 sims from BT-being BT fibre customers we get a discount so mine is £12 sim only (unlimited mins, texts, 6gb data)...hers is £9-same unlimited but 3gb data. Now I've discovered snpchat data use is not going to be an issue! Thanks all for helping. She is much better...about 95% now...with an addition (& removal) of 1 of the meds. I've taken a new number but she'll 'PAC' (or is it PUK???) her original number over on return.

EE only appear to have text alerts and no "bill shock" cap on calls. It's disgusting that they and some other networks aren't interested in providing a decent service to their customers. The Digital Economy Bill came into force in April this year and is supposed to legislate against non capped contracts, but it seems a bit vague and certainly EE don't take any notice of it.

On another theme, Three charge 3p/min to call some international destinations on PAYG, but charge 46p - 56p per min if you are a contract customer, same company same destinations (USA and Spain)!

Even more than ever, it really does pay to read the terms and conditions before signing a contract. Most mobile phone contracts are at best "weasel words" and need a magnifying glass to check.
