I went to my ESA assessment alone because I had nobody to go with me, I was in their 20 minites and the women asked me how i got there and I said but bus which is a 50 minite bus journey there and back.. I spoke about how my depression and anxiety affects me but I think going on the bus alone there when I wrote in my assessment form I can't travel without anixety is going to go against me. I was wondering how hard is it to get sectioned because i've got no support since i fell out with my foster parents and if i get sectioned i will get help. i have been feeling really depressed, do i go to my gp and tell him that i'm ready to hurt myself and will then section me. i'm worried because i don't want to end up homeless? what do I have to do to get sectioned, is it hard?

wanting to get sectioned prohibits being sectionable, it's a legal way of detaining somebody who is a risk to themselves or others because of their mental health and refuses voluntary admission.
What you need is help, by the sounds of it, find somebody to talk to and share how desperate you're feeling. Don't try to go about it in a contrived way just be honest with whoever you choose to talk to whether that's a CPN, GP, social worker, bloke in the pub.0 -
Are you ready to hurt yourself? If so you should call 999, it is an emergency. If not, then make a routine appt with your GP to ask what help is available.
It is very difficult to get sectioned or even to get voluntary inpatient care because there are barely any mental health beds available.
Why do you think you are going to be homeless?0 -
Please get an urgent appointment with your GP, and see what help is available in your community.

Don't worry too much about your WCA.
If you need help to appeal a decision your local CAB / advice centre can help you, but the assessment should look at what you can do reliably. You had little choice but to manage the journey to your assessment even though you must have been very anxious, but this still may well be something you couldn't do reliably and repeatedly on a normal day.
(I would suggest making a note of how the journey and the assessment has affected you, as this would be useful should you need to appeal the ESA decision).

If you are in social housing, and have a supportive housing officer- it might be worth having a chat with them. Sometimes, they will know of local organisations who they can refer you to for help.
Are you receiving PIP?

If not this could provide you with additional income to help with your circumstances / recovery.
If you are receiving housing benefit / council tax reduction, then let the local housing benefit dept know of any changes to your circumstances. If you do, then this will continue to be paid even if your ESA changes. So, don't be too worried about the rent.
