Competitive suppliers?

Have lapsed a bit, did see e-mail notification in May.... bbbut, only noticed new one today notifying of change of my tariff to way higher one and ended doing the usual...

Honestly- not happy with tariffs- offers, as all way higher and some even suggesting big supplier "thingy's" as BG or SP or NP... will not chose none monstrosity AKA "big supplier" shareholders etc- rip-offs IMHO...

Most are projecting "savings per year/month"... as when their charges are higher either way, via switching companies or going directly, as:

Some, apart from way higher tariffs and standing charges, also expect "leaving fee".. bhooo!:D

I would prefer plain straight tariff to pay monthly as per previous ~ £35-40 PCM (in accordance to the last years usage of approx 1600 kwH El, 15000kwH gas), I do not have problem in submitting my meter readings monthly.

The question I have and would love to ask you for opinion and advice:

Did I miss some good tariff/supplier to be near the same?

Should I continue with collective switch initiatives in having best of faith in them to find me suitable supplier/tariff?

Any other sensible tips/tricks, considering, I'm fairly "finance literate" and do cut trough the "promotional garbage" what they all say...?

My personal method is to hit all the comparatives and only note the following .
Unit Rate
Daily Standing Charge
Any Discounts for DD etc .
Any Penalty for early exit .
Ignore estimated direct debit / estimated annual bill .

it's just I have not managed to get anything near the same, all as one cheapest work out 1/4 more expensive....

There hasn't been a competitive collective deal for some 12 months now (assuming you were on a good deal to start with and not the standard variable tariff).
All the energy suppliers have increased their prices and yes it is now 20%+ more expensive across the board than this time last year.
That is the way of the beast. Prices can go up or down and currently the only way is up.
You won't find a deal cheaper or even equal to a 12 month old deal.

Iresa were the cheapest for me by a margin when I switched. That satisfies good tariff, but maybe not good supplier. It's just as much a gamble as playing the stock market.
