Not sure of the best place to ask this question - has anyone had any dealings with or know anything about this company? Their offers seem to be too good to be true!

hi, first of all and thanks for deciding to read my thread
my name is tanveer and im 22 years old, and is extremeley wound up with teh company css mobiles,
css mobiles is a contract phone dealer who no longer exits but who resided at the follwing address:
CSS MOBILES
1366 Leeds Road,Bradford
BD3 8ND
css miles oferred me two phones on pather 55 tariff , (£55 pound each) (they offered me a phone to cover the cost of it 100% via cash back so i thought it was too good too miss, you would get two free brand new nokia phones, each with 600 mins and 100 free texts on each phone, plus you get free calls between the two handsets, which is why i bought the damn package as id given one of the handsets to my partner, so she can call me anytime , any day for free , and i could do the same, pay ang go on several different tariffs proved to be far too expensive, and css mbiles promised to cover the charges for th whole year for a 12 month contract, it seemed very good at the time
total monthly cost directly from orange would be standard £110 a month combining the two handsets with pather 55 on eacg costing £55 each which css mobiles would cover the cost of 100% by offering me a cash back so long as i paid ORANGE the amount due on time each month and if i returned the original copies of the paid bill on times,
the cash back would be dealt in several stages
4 stages in total for a 12 month contract phone deal.
anyway as i was told this would happen be freinds and family, to this day css mobiles have only paid me my cash back on for ONE stage only (£330)
after that stage when it came to the time of claiming for stage 2, css mobiles made several excuses such as they never recieved the paid bills to them on time, then another staff (at a later date!) said they hadnt recieved it at all! another said that they had accidently wiped out the whole account list for all their customers (so i fowarded them my copy of the contract to them)
anyway in the end i was left out of pocket, and had to pay the £110 minimum montly bill to stop avoid the phone being blocked by the orange network, so i continued paying the montly bill of 110pounds and continued trying to contact the customer services (who talked down to me and were rude and explaiined to me that their call centre was busy, i enquired if its a call centre then why the only person that ever answers the phone?) when asked that she would hang up the phone on me , this went on for several months, i continued paying off the contract as this company css mobiles could come up with another excuse and say that i am not entitled to the other future cash abck stages, (i know now that should have continued to pay the bills as i stopped using the phones i case i incurred further charges than the £110 a month) money was tight and still is
css mobiles have left me out of pocket of £990 which i have slowly paid off most of it, i still owe orange around £325 pounds to this date of 15/0/2008
css mobiles have now upped and left and have disappeared, when i contacted the trading standards , this is the reply i got ;
I have just been speaking with my colleague from West
> Yorkshire trading standards and he informs me that the possibility of you
> getting your cash back is remote. The company appear to be in
> some financial difficulties.
>
> Whoever your provider is e.g Orange, T mobile - please
> contact them and see if you can arrange to downgrade the package to a lower
> tariff, I'd be surprised if they cancelled the contract, but you could always
> ask.
>
> Sorry it's bad news, if I hear anything else I will contact
> you.
PLease can someone help me, i dont know what to do, orange collections keep wiriting to me, recently i wanted to sign up with orange directly, didnt want any cash back malarkey, they were offering a free nintendi Wii, when i enquired about it, the said that i have to clear the previous balance on the account which is understandable,
but what i wanted to know was that the orange phone dealer "css mobiles"
should be held responsible and that all the peolple like myself should have their balances refunded as it wasnt out faults,
now that i have the £320 something balance on my shoulders inculding all the other household expenses, im not in a position to pay it off, i dont want to pay it off, i didnt evn use the phone in the last few months of the contract
ayway the contract now expired (been over 12 months) but stil have that debt with orange hanging over me , please help if someone can,
thnk you everyone0 -
yup, downgrade your contract with orange. that's the only way out.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
Tanveer, its difficult to know what to suggest.
Now your contract with Orange has ended, the only thing left to do is pay of your debt.
It may sound harsh, but you knew how much you had agreed to pay Orange each month. Relying on the cashback to pay you Orange bill was not the best strategy.
Keep talking to Orange. There is every possibility that they will be able to reduce the total sum payable. Maybe you can suggest to them a payment plan to pay off the debt over a longer period of time.i dont want to pay it offi didnt even use the phone in the last few months of the contract
Life is tough sometimes. The debt is your responsibility. Please don't ignore Orange's letters, the problem wont go away.0
