    hi
have'nt been around for a while cakes are looking beautiful, i posted we had a craft stall at weekend and was unsure, well not going into details but we ended up in beer tent with 3 other stalls, bit of a joke and have reported them to local council ,it was a nightmare.
the good part is council want us to have a stall at big summer fair at end of august , i have been chatting and wanted to pass this on VERY IMPORTANT - with regards to toys we SHOULD leave the tag on them, if not and we get a visit from trading standards we will be asked to remove them from sale. thought i should pass it on since a few of you are selling to shops it might be worth knowing.

hiya, just wanted to update you all i'm very excited so bear with me lol

i made 3 cakes (blue, pink and lemon) and took them with me to the chemists where they bought all 3 and i made almost £10 off of each one which i'm more than happy with. They said that they don't have the room to store the cakes but asked how many i could make and how often and how long it takes to make them etc. they went straight into the window and there were customers admirig them before i got out of the shop.

no one here has heard of nappy/baby cakes before and the chemist owner was very impressed - she called me when i got home to order another 3 for their other shop and told me to stock up on ingredients as she thinks they will sell very quickly and she will want me to make more

i put in a vest, bib, pair of socks, dummy, muslin, blanket, toy, napppies, scratch mits and 500ml bottle of johnsons baby wash she's plannin in selling them for £29.

there was a delivery driver who came in and he asked me if i made it and when i said yes he was very surprised and said they were beautiful when he asked how much and the chemist owner said £29 he said "is that all?" then said that "in aberdeen they would prob charge £50 no problem" although i'm not sure if he was just being nice. he loved the sock roses and kept mumbling about how pretty it was lol

I estimated (quite generously) that the cakes cost me £11 to make taking into account the prices thing swill be if i cannot get them on offer so if i get my ingredients cheaper then the more profit i will make. it doesn't sound like much but tbh as long as i'm making something i'm happy.

tesco's have their muslins reduced just now making then 55p each (just the white ones) they were working out at 41p each last week as it was buy 1 get 1 free so i shall go and stock up on some before they go up in price again.

i'm very excited as this is the first time i have made my own money in 3 years :)

heres a pic of the 3 cakes and a pic of it in the chemists window :)

Just out of curiosity, how do you manage to make the above cakes for £11? I must be buying my supplies wrong!

Giggle you know on a facebook group is there any way you can create albums for pics like on your normal facebook page? I want to add some of my handmade cards on my group but have them in a separate album to cakes.
