Missed out today. One of our local card shops is closing down. They sold ribbon and allsorts of bits that i used for my cakes and gifts. Anyway last week every thing apart from the ribbon was either 50% or 75% off there was a big sign saying so but i still asked. The chap knows me from going in so much and said that the florist ribbon and loose ribbon would not be marked down as they could prob get someone to take the lot and buy it at wholesale price. I went in today and shock he:eek: had reduced the florist ribbon down to £1 from £8 but the only colour he had left was blackHe said they flew off the shelf. duh i wonder why! I was quite annoyed really as i have given him alot of custom. Sorry moan over
on a happy note i found a lovely bunny from birthdays £4 something reduced to £2 and when you press it's tummy it makes a noise. The problem i have now though is i really want to keep it and not give it my niece. Bad aunty!:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0 -

Hi everyone
Just wanted to say that everyone's cakes are awesome! I'm making a cake tonight for a friend of my mum's. Managed to get loads of Winnie the Pooh stuff for half price in Asda and the Huggies gift with newborn nappies in Sainsbury's. I'm raring to go! And I've finally found a use for the millions of rubberbands I seem to get from the postie each morning in work! Thanks for posting all your pics and tips, I've learnt a lot!FTB Tracker

Lovely Julie - personally I prefer them with the butterfly on but thats because I'm obsessed with butterflies (hence my new business name!!) - loving the silicone cases - it actually made me think mmmmm sure I've got some of those somewhere... having searched my cupboards there they are in pink only - think I got them a while back in the poundshop along with a fab silicone butterfly cake mould!! Yet to be used! Before I found this thread and heard of 'Nappy Cakes'!! Now it looks like they are destined to contain socks rather than cakies for hubby's tummy!!
:rotfl:
How much do you guys charge for the sock cupcakes? Looks like I MIGHT be doing a school fete thingy in June and would like to do some cheaper items. Also, hope no-one minds but I was in a shop the other day that sells cake bits & I bought some cake boards, cake 'fringed' kinda ribbon & some flowers which I'm hoping to use - got a lilac cake planned...
threelittlepigs - have cleared my message box - well a bit anyway!!
is anyone else getting irritated at the low number of messages it takes to fill up your message box?!!! I am cos I like to keep certain messages so find it hard to delete some...!!!0
