Thank you ladies. nobody bothers with the traditional gifts any more and I hate to just buy vouchers, I feel its very impersonal.

Rusty I think the nappys make a stronger tier when unrolled and re rolled.

    Rusty,
I like the cakes, I always use co ordinating ribbon on mine too I think it loos classy.

    Irlip,

I think the cake looks great, definately think it's a good idea to do it like that and show the picture.

    Nicky,

I've not done any web orders, I primarily set up the site so I could process card payments at fayres but it is also useful to be able to advertise it on leaflets. 90% of what I sell is through word of mouth.

    Chatty
I love the boxes they're very cute.

Well think that's all the updates done! I've just ordered some new toys and can't wait to get them as sold all my Peter Rabbitts and Jemima Puddleducks. I've ordered 50th anniversary Paddington Bears, Some pink and Blue Miffy Rabbitts that play twinkle twinkle little star and some more Jemima Puddleducks. Can't wait to use them!

Thankyou Chatty, I have to agree. seems to be a lot better and also the cake looks more rounder if that makes sense.

I managed to forget about your boxes I apologise, I have just got back from work and seen them again and it reminded me.

They are beautiful well done to you. My keepsake box is a boring clear plastic box!!! What kind of boxes did you use?

Thankyou for all the replies. It was my first time using the coloured florist ribbon but I actually like it which I wasn't sure I would to start with. I can't believe how different it all looks with just simple tweaks. I have pink ribbon aswell but will probably have to stick to ivory for my neutral cakes and then use the lemon gingham. I wanted to give spotty a try but I know Shelley uses spotty on hers and didn't want to copy the spotty I think definately works really well. :)

Re the boxes. i was going to buy plain boxes and material to cover, then i found these that came flat packed.

I always use florist ribbon for the base colour then satin, chiffon on top of it. I do like the dotted ribbon but my fav is the gingham on a blue cake. ..i think the right choice of ribbon really makes the cake

    Thanks Julie,

Mine are the 25cm "my first peter rabbitts" so quite a bit bigger than the little ones. All the toys I ordered tonight sell for appx £10 so they'll add alot of value to the cakes. I'm really pleased as even with £9.95 p & p charges they average out at £4.80 each so less than half price. Can't wait to start using them now though!
