Nappy Cakes

Sat and made up 3 swirled cakes tonight. These are my new ones and the ones I will be sticking with .... for now anyway til I come up with something different

what do you think?

They look really neat! I am using both swirling method and rolled at moment depending on which cake. :T :T :T

The swirling nappy effect looks really good - I can't use that myself because I don't use muslins or sleepsuits on the outside.

Freetobeme - I dont use anything to hold the layers together just place a talc in the bottom area. The cake stays in place due to the weight but obviously you need to take care with it and keep it straight.

Snap, I've been using the gingham too.
Do you order yours online? If so, do they have any brown gingham?, my local market stall only does a burgundy, pretty close - but not close enough. Would love some in orange too!!!

I've just done my tags and recipe cards ... Came out quite well and only had a little bit of help from OH

Now time to start the flyers!!!

Can I ask it is just as easy to fit in things to the cake when you "swirl"?

Hi Irlip, I think it is just as easy to be honest, The ones I made up last night are purely nappies though as it was just for photo purposes. however I used 1 rolled nappy in the centre which is easy enough to remove to slot in something else.
