Hydrangeas
Options
Hi, I've been given some gorgeous Hydrangeas plants and understand that it can get very thirsty and requires lots of maintenance to grow. I've also been given some Seactiv soil conditioner (source of calicium and magnesium oxide) - will it help if I prepare soil with this and some horse manure before planting the hydrangeas?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've not found my hydrangeas need any special attention, and they grow likes weeds.
We have very alkaline soil where I live, so the plants that are in flower beds have pink flowers. I'm keen to have blue flowers, so am now trying to grow 2 plants in large pots and collect rain water for them plus have added rusty nails to their potting soil to give them an acid soil which is what is needed for blue hydrangeas. They seem to be coming along well enough, but those in the flower beds are definitely doing better.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -

They are some of the easiest plants to grow. Pop them in the ground, chop absolutely all the growth off every 2 years or so and you'll have a nice fresh plant basically forever!0 -
Maybe lD your you hydrangea type(s) and then follow this guide:

You won't kill them by pruning incorrectly, but results will be better treating them in the right way.0
