I fully understand your point re checking the product in person for quality. But you need to stop there. Without seeing these in person you can question the quality but cannot say standards are low. Its bit like finding a tradesman. Do all good tradesman and decent local companies have all information on their supply chain etc.... Thanks for your time anyway

I challenge your viewpoint and suggest you get objective, savvy and real. Valuedoors are not like a local tradesman who is frequently not concerned about websites and Facebook and likes. Valuedoors are a national retailer who can afford the time, effort and expenditure of a flashy website. If they had any genuine interest in quality, and accreditation this could easily be accomodated in the first column of their webpage. The fact that such items are missing speaks volumes for valuedoors business ethics.

Perhaps this does not concern you. That is fine by me, because it is your money at stake, not mine!

There is no need to give me lecture on being real. People post here when they don't know enough about something and want to ask. At no point I said I want to save money. U r very very knowledgeable of course sir but please refrain from posting such things. If u can't help no problem bur no need to be so condensanding to others myself... I repeat what I said. What you said about valuedoors may absolutely be right but unless you know for sure don't make accusations about quality. I am sure you are perfect at your job but no need for such things.

I have recently had a new front Solidor. It's not been there long enough to say much but it looks good.

Rock doors are another well-known brand, but they looked more old-fashioned to me.

Also think about what sort of lock you want. I went for thumb turn so I don't need to have the key to open it from the inside, but this may depend on the style of your door.

EDIT: The most important person in this job will be your fitter. Even if they claim to be FENSA registered, I advise that you look them up on the FENSA website to make sure their registration is current.

I think it is still true you only need FENSA for doors with over 50% glass, you need to comply with building regs on heat loss from what I remember. I would think the main producers of composite doors such as Rockdoor or others like Solidor would be compliant with the building regulations too.
