PCN Wrong registration number entered on ticket machine

Hi
Got a PCN NTK letter through the post last week.
What happened was my partner used my car that morning and when she paid for the ticket, without thinking, she entered her registration number, instead of the registration number of my car which she was driving. Fortunately, she has kept the ticket proving this.
I have explained all this in my appeal to myparkingcharge but they are insisting I name her and give them her details.
Are they entitled to do this?
Thanks in advance for any input

Thanks for that
Missed that bit while reading through it this morning. Newbie error!
My conclusion from reading that stickie is to appeal as the keeper of the vehicle but state my partner was the temporary keeper that morning, while also stating I'm refusing to name her?
Thanks again0 -
nope , you appeal as keeper stating that you were not the driver (who shall remain nameless) and that the correct payment was made under VRM ******* (edit it as appropriate) by the driver and their records should confirm this and the pcn should be cancelled as no loss was made by them or their client
all this "my partner" etc is hogwash, tell em nowt , dont make it easy for these people0 -
If you have already appealed then that's all you do. NO TRYING IAS, no paying them, no replying to other letters.
Come back if they try a small claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks all
Sent them an appeal using the template letter. See what these jokers come back with. They don't supply an email address so it's through their appeal form online only.
Thanks again0 -
I've just had a reply from them stating in their opinion entering the incorrect registration number is not a valid excuse even though I have the ticket to prove it! Ridiculous!!
They've now said I need to appeal to IAS? Any advice greatly appreciated0 -
This is a very common human error, no big deal, and certainly not worth £100. If they take you to court they are likely to lose. Judges often see this sort of case as wasting the court''s time. After all, the payment was made and no-one was out of pocket. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

It's infuriating! Their records will show the reg entered never went passed their ANPR camera that day. That thread is an appeal to POPLA, I've had a look around but I can't seem to find any template appeal letters to IAS? Do I just give my version of events or is there a template letter anywhere?
Thanks again0 -

As coupon-mad says in post #5 above
The IAS WILL JUST WASTE YOUR TIME
They act only for their members ... NOT THE MOTORIST
IAS IS SIMPLY A SHAM set by Gladstones to extort money
