Recently when using my Google Crome Browser I keep getting a message saying site unavailable because ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR.
One of the sites this applies to is Money Mail Gas and Electricity comparison site.. This message also comes up on various other legitimate web sites
So far I have run a full Security Scan, Rebooted, Cleared Caches and uninstalled and reinstalled Google Crome
I have today tried this search on my neighbours PC on Google Crome and it works. So it would seem certain it something specific to do with a setting on my PC. Any suggestions please

This can be caused by the date and time on the computer being incorrect.0

I am having almost exactly the same problem.I have run the windows diagnostic check but that was clear. I have also trying going into some of the sites mentioned in post 4 but many of these come up with the ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR so i am stuck. Any other suggestions what I could try bearing in mind I am no Techie so simple solutions please. Otherwise it looks like I am stuck. I am also using Google Crome as my main browser but I have also tried Firefox and that is no better. HELP!!!0

Try Edge and IE Maybe install Opera or Safari. Got a tablet or phone to see what they make of the sites?
Post some urls that fail for you.0 -
The Problem would seem to relate specifically to my PC as I have been down to the local library used the Google Crome browser and the websites I got the error code ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR works there. It is obvious now I need to alter something on my PC to make it accept these website without this error code appearing. What else can I try0

Was the library PC using the same build of Chrome that you are?
Post some urls - the chances are that there are some piffling issues with the certificates that are now being picked up by the latest browser builds. It may also be the software levels supported by the server. See other posts here on similar issues where I posted a report on a domain giving this error.
