  • Ask them to turn up with cash but not bid.

If sale proceeds close the item and state item broken.

Not within the rules but nobody will know.

If the buyer asked for the sale via eBay messages and seller ends the listing then they will get a warning. 2 of them and there will be a restriction (some sellers have reported getting a short restriction on the first warning but that is unlikely).

It is almost near impossible to even exchange address or other details to arrange a sale.

There is a thread about these warning from a few weeks back, eBay are getting very hot about selling off eBay.

  • Just swap mobile numbers to discuss "viewing the item".

As long as you dont do it more than once, or make it stupidly obvious, I doubt ebay are going to want to lose accounts for a one off. But if you do it a few times, you can expect to be banned.

Just ask the buyer to sign a receipt for the item when you deliver it.

Seriously, off eBay sales are eBay's new 'thing' just read the community boards an various eBay groups. eBay have also set up messages to prevent telephone numbers being exchanged.

Not sure how that helps with PayPal seller protection ?

OP, cash on collection or delivery is better for you but never accept paypal and then deliver- have a look at the sticky thread about the issues of collection only items.

Honestly, I think that most of the buyers make their payment via paypal, and then sellers post the item to them. So how can you sell your items without accepting the payal and then delivering the item.

    I am confused of it.

If you are new to ebay then please take a moment to have a read of the sticky postage thread here:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3146680

Basically for full seller protection with paypal the item must be delivered with ONLINE tracking to the address in paypal *and* sent within 7 days of payment. Sending untracked (as many of us do) will still cover us against a claim for fraudulent use of a card as long as we have proof of postage.

Accepting paypal and then not posting gives no protection at all, that's why we recommend that sellers with items that are to be collected try and get cash instead. However that also has problems as we cannot disable the requirement to allow buyers to pay by paypal, so read this one as well:
