Another poster on a brand new computer got the same thing. It was Outlook email and only started after the automatic update to 53.3. A kind forum member did help but cannot use my normal bookmark now.

I've been having this issue too, I end up having to hit F5 until the page finally loads.

I think it might be an issue with Firefox not waiting long enough for a response.

A similar issue occurred just after ISPs started implementing the filtering and censorship measures that were forced upon them. This was a DNS issue where the ISP DNS servers were unable to process URLs quickly enough for Firefox and Firefox was timing out too quickly. Before anyone mentions 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4, all DNS traffic passes through ISP DNS servers, even if your settings say otherwise, because in order to implement censorship ISPs have to hijack DNS traffic.

Oddly enough, if i'm running my VPN I don't get this issue.

If it's a Microsoft website, it's because they let a Certificate expire.

As I understand it, they've replaced it now, but the fix takes a while to propagate to all the various servers which might be why the VPN behaves differently.

    In Firefox:
Help --> Firefox Help --> Sign In or Register --> (register here and you can "Ask A Question".)

I use FF Help if I need it. I know there is an answer to this question, but you will be better off registering yourself and getting a direct answer.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
