Hi all,
im currently in a position where I have no financial wiggle room this year to pay for Christmas, so the only money I will have to pay for it will have to come from selling other stuff. Im on the konmari-ing my house at the moment and decluttering all of my old baby item and about to get it all listed of fb/ebay/gumtree.
Join me for moral support and encouragement.
post up your own Christmas mega sale and let give each other some super selling ideas.
My goal is to make £500 between now and Christmas.
Current position :Sold IPhone £150/£500
happy selling xx

Huh? I'm not sure I'm reading this right.
Selling stuff that is either practically useful or that sparks joy to blow the proceeds on a celebration focused on one day of the year? Would Martin approve?
Much better to sell the stuff that you don't need for a rainy day fund.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Great that you're selling unwanted items to up your income. And sorry to rain on your parade. But if money is tight, I'm sure there are other things that £500 could be spent on that would have a longer-term benefit to you and your family. Use the money from the baby items to pay for whatever your child is needing at the moment.
But good luck with konmari and the money-making in general. No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Hello Kim plus 8, I would love to join you, but I have already sold everything that isn't nailed down, bar the cat.
Good luck with your plan.

nothing that I am selling 'sparks joy' hence why I am happy to sell it. and the presents I will be buying will be useful, such as new swimming costumes/clothes for the kids and the money to visit our family who live £250 miles away.VfM4meplse wrote: »Huh? I'm not sure I'm reading this right.

of course I will be building a rainy day fund too and will use this for that too, I know £500 is probably not going to be achievable but its just a goal.Just a single mum, working full time, bit of a nutcase, but mostly sensible, wanting to be Mortgage free by 2035 or less!0 -

I think it sounds like a great idea Kim! I'll pop back now and then with stuff I've sold, although mine isn't for Christmas as I have more pressing needs at the moment!
Sold a cage I was no longer using on the weekend for £25. There used to be a great thread on this forum called Things You Never Thought Would Sell On EBay; some real random junk could make profits.
Note that EBay's appeal procedure is heavily weighted towards buyers these days- describe your item accurately, take dated photos and keep postage receipts. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
