Partial S&S ISA Transfer

Is it possible to do a partial transfer (e.g. half) of a Stocks and Shares ISA to a different provider?

Let's say, for example, I have £500k in a Barclays Stockbrokers ISA, and wanted to move half of it to Hargreaves Lansdown.... Do S&S providers allow partial transfers out/in?

Failing that, could I transfer half of it into a Barclays Cash ISA instead (just to get it split into a separate account)? Then presumably I could transfer that across to HL to convert back into a S&S ISA?

I'm not worried about time out of the market or anything like that, but simply keen to reduce the size of the ISA with one provider, and also want to take advantage of the other provider's better stockbroking facilities.

Yes you can transfer part of an ISA without going through any other steps.

But the HL S&S ISA transfer form doesn't offer the option of a partial transfer to them - it is all or nothing.

So my alternative suggestion of splitting into a Cash ISA at Barclays would be the first step, then transferring ALL of that across to HL?

EDIT: Or a different provider who can process a partial transfer to them?

    The form says:
    Q. Can I transfer part of my ISA?
    A. Some providers will allow a partial transfer; please
check this directly with your provider or contact our
Helpdesk on 0117 900 9000. To transfer part of a
holding only please attach a clear, signed covering
letter to your completed transfer form, stating you wish
to make a partial transfer and detailing exactly which
    holdings you wish to transfer.
