  • re-passports, if your passport is in your maiden name, and you have since married, its fine to travel using your maiden name. Just remember to book everything in your maiden name and not your married name.
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like you :p

:p would like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing :o

No. You can use your maiden name & married name for separate things - it is still you.

Dont mortgage companies charge you for a name change?

I got married in Poland and when filling in the paperwork beforehand I had to state which name I was going to use. This was typed into the paperwork we signed at the wedding. I still have lots of paperwork in my maiden name, as I couldn't decide on new signature for the bank, passports cost too much, ebay etc I think might want too much beaurocracy and never trusted post office to get the paperwork to the DVLA. The only important name change I did make is with the doctor, so when I got pregnant I was a Mrs! At least there is no confusion with the baby's name then.

No, because its due to marriage they don't charge you. I've been married twice and changed names to married name, back to maiden name and again to new married name !!

don't forget if you change the name on your passport you will have to pay the FULL price of a new passport, you don't get a new one for free. that's why my passport is the only thing that i never changed when i got married as everything else was free to change.
and you sign yor marriage certificate in your maiden name not your married name.
