Kings Cross is not on the Northern Line branch that goes to Waterloo though (an option might be KC to Bank then Waterloo - City line, but I'm not sure how long that would take).

Or more sensibly, Kings Cross to Leicester Square on the Piccadilly line and change to the Northern line. Using the link at the end of the Piccadilly line it is just a few steps (and no escalators) and you are on the Northern line platform.

It has lifts too, just not very visible.

  • Can you expand on the problem with the escalator ?

If you arriving at Waterloo by main line train why not get off at another station such as Vauxhall and use the vic line perhaps

Would it help if a member of staff escorted you ?

Quick update. I had a stern word with myself , and made myself do it. OH came with me in the end ( thought he wouldn`t be able to originally) so I tried not to think too much about it, marched up to the escalator, huddled in close to the person in front of me so I couldn`t see the whole stairway, and stepped on! OH stayed behind me in case of any wobbles and I was fine!
So pleased with myself, and we had a fantastic weekend in Surrey!:j:j:j
